Once registered, our pooling coordinator will allocate the player to a team. Teams are based on age, gender and ability.  The teams are reviewed over the first three weeks of the season, and changes may be made at the pooling coordinator's discretion. Any changes will be communicated to the parents and coaches of the teams. Pooling is to ensure a fun but competitive competition.

Team Lists

The team lists are posted 3-4 days prior to the competition commencing on our social media and webpage. Teams should consist of 7 players.  However, this is dependent on the team and if necessary, will increase to 8.

Games are played once a week on a Monday, Thursday and Friday according to age group. Game times for junior players can range between 4:00 pm and 7:30 pm and are determined by the number of registrations received. The association will notify players if domestic training is available throughout the season.

WBA provides singlets to junior players. In 2023 players will be in new singlets thanks to our sponsors.

A singlet levy is included in the player's registration fees, and singlets need to be returned by the end of the season for dry cleaning.

All junior players must wear black basketball shorts with no pockets or stripes.  Black shorts are available for purchase from the office at $35.

Coaches will hand out singlets before the first game. Please allow 5 to 10 minutes for this process.

Volunteers coach all junior teams. We encourage parents to consider volunteering. All volunteers must ensure that they have a Working with Children's Check card and register as a coach on PlayHQ. The association will provide coach's education sessions during the season. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact us!
