Child Safeguarding at WBA

All children and young people have the right to participate in basketball environments where they feel safe, encouraged, and heard.

Included below are policies and other information that help to inform and guide our members, employees, and volunteers of their Child Safeguarding responsibilities. See more information at Basketball Victoria here.

Wodonga Basketball has zero tolerance to child abuse in any form. Wodonga Basketball has adopted all of Basketball Victoria's Child Safeguarding policies to remain compliant with government legislation.

We have appointed and would like to introduce our new Child Welfare Officer, Matt Bramich, of which every association has to have a volunteer in this position. For all child safety information, complaints and queries, please contact Mathew on 0400 095 294.

Here is an interesting podcast that helps to link the Child Safeguarding with real life basketball scenarios, https://www.basketballvictoria.com.au/news/talking-split-s8-e18-child-safe-standards.
